How to use these guides, examples, and templates

Scitong publishes guides, examples, and templates for common thesis decisions. They explain the basic shape of a task, show examples, and point out details students often need to confirm with their own supervisor, handbook, ethics rules, or local formatting requirements.

Use them when you want to understand a step before organising it in Scitong: shaping a research question, planning a proposal, choosing a methodology, building a literature review, using a template, or checking the final submission.

Because thesis rules differ by programme, the guidance stays general. Scitong does not guarantee grades, supervisor approval, publication, university acceptance, or any other academic outcome.

How examples are created

The examples are either general teaching examples or fictional thesis scenarios. They are designed to illustrate structure, not to represent a real student's work. Where an example names a topic, sample, construct, method, or source type, use it as a model for reasoning rather than something to copy into a thesis.

Checklists, rubrics, matrices, and templates make assumptions visible. If a choice depends on a supervisor, ethics committee, programme handbook, or local formatting rule, the page points that out.

Limits of these materials

Scitong is not a university, supervisor, legal adviser, or ethics board. A website cannot know every programme rule or local assessment criterion. Students remain responsible for checking their own handbook, supervisor feedback, ethics approval, source use, and final submission requirements.
